MORE ABOUT OUR EVENTS:
We welcome adults of all genders and sexual orientations: your trans+ or gender-non-conforming voice is super valued here 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
We welcome singers and non-singers alike. Whatever your level of singing experience or confidence, singing is your birthright and you'll be encouraged here!
Adults of all races, faiths and backgrounds are welcome here. We sing mostly in English, with some songs shared by our African siblings in their original language
Drop-ins and regular attendance equally welcome
We don't sing overtly religious music, but some songs are gently spiritual
Live recording - Ecstatic Dance Spring Retreat (Osho Leela, Dorset. April 2023)
Song: "No more holding on" by Murray Kyle,
arranged by Susie Ro Prater

Hi, I'm Assamiya (pronounced A-sa-mee-a, she/her). I'm the Creatress of Heart Song Collective and the leader of all our events. I'm passionate about the power of embodied singing for our physical and mental health and wellbeing, and the connective magic of singing together in community. This is my soul project. And you and your voice are so welcome to join us!

(she/her)
I really recommend it! A non-competitive, non-judgmental space where everything is welcome, including my own sometimes out of tune-ness. The day or two after, I am so free and bouncy.

Assamiya holds a brilliant space for queer folk, understanding the importance not only of pronouns (which we're invited to include on our name badges) but of gender neutral explanations of relevant body parts. It's wonderful as a non-binary human to not be gendered by the size of my larynx!
